You can easily add downloadable files that are independent from your online courses

Before you start

  • If you are looking to link a download to a course please instead see Add File(s) to a Course
  • This feature is only available on select plans; please speak to your Account Manager for more information

Step 1: Upload Files to the Repository

  1. Click Downloads in the Admin Menu

  2. Click File Repository

  3. In the File Repository, ensure the action Upload File is selected, then click Perform Action

  4. Click Choose File, select the file you wish to upload from your computer, then click Upload File

  5. You will see a green confirmation message and your new file will be listed in the repository

  6. Repeat these steps for each additional file you need available to your product; your file(s) are now ready to link to a product

Step 2: Create a Product

  1. Click Downloads in the Admin Menu

  2. Click Add download

  3. Fill out all relevant fields on the Create Download page, ensuring you have the following filled out at a minimum:
    1. Name
    2. Download Summary
    3. Download Detail
    4. Taxonomy
    5. Sell Price (Ex-GST)
    6. SKU (a unique identifier for your product)

  4. Under Other, ensure Show in Product List is selected

  5. When done, click Save and Manage Files

  6. This will direct you to link Files in your File Repository to the Product you just created - don't navigate away from here, you need to be here for Step 3

  7. You will see a green confirmation message and are now ready to proceed to the next step

Step 3: Link Files to the Product

  1. On the Add a new feature dropdown menu, ensure File download is selected

  2. Click Add

  3. On the Add File Download page, there are a number of fields to fill in:
    1. SKU: If shown, this should be left to Any
    2. File Download: Start typing any part of the filename set at Step 2.3.1, and the list will automatically update to display matching Files - select your desired File
    3. Description: Enter a description of the individual file - your customers will see this in their My Account – Files area
    4. File Limitations: Set any additional access limitations that will apply to this file when a customer purchases this product

  4. Your fields should look something like this:

  5. When done, click Save Feature

  6. You will see a green confirmation message. Your Product and its Linked Files are ready for purchase by your customers - your Download will display on the Online Courses list
